SLV Swim Center is now interviewing for swim teachers to join our team. We Start April 9th and teach till October 28th. In the spring and fall we work Monday thru Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings and in the summer we will have more opportunities for hours as we open Mon-Thur 10-6 and Saturdays. This job is for someone who likes working with and has great patience with kids, enjoys the water, and is a fast learner.
Learn our method of teaching swimming and teach it to swimmers ranging in age and ability. Our approach is safe, fun, and starts with proper breathing. Most work will be done with kids ranging 2-7 years old, but we have students from 6mo and up. You will be responsible for the safety and the quality of each class. You need to keep a certain paice and keep to curriculum while making the class fun and enjoyable. You will be expected to work 3-7 hours in the sun in a pool. The job also include small amounts of prep and take down and occasional cleaning. It is a fun job and is perfect for people who like teaching and encouraging kids to grow.
The job is ideal for people in school, we try to work around sports and vacations as long as fair warning is given, however, it is hard to justify training a first year employe if they need more than one week off during the 10 week summer program.
No swim teaching experience is required, but you must have, some experience working with kids; ability to interact well with various age groups; ability to get along well with other staff members; able to communicate in a professional and positive manner with clients; and you must be punctual.
